The answer is often simple or complex. For NORDICMODERN, it is somewhere in between – geographically based on the furniture house Paustian in Jørn Utzon's iconic building in Nordhavn. Peter Kampmann and Nana Fenge worked together for a number of years, Kampmann as CEO and Fenge as wholesale manager.The many years of collaboration on and with some of the world's leading design brands such as Artek, Vitra and Paustian's own furniture collection have given the partners an incomparable sense of quality, business and networking.

In 1987, Vibeke Klint exhibited in Paustian. Here, architect Hanne Kjærholm staged Klint's rugs on the floor of the large atrium – as graphic statements in textile that sparked the imagination. It was the first time that Peter Kampmann and Nana Fenge experienced Klint's simple but powerful universe. In 2017, weaver Gitte-Anette Knudsen created an exhibition about Vibeke Klint's rugs and textiles at Gl. Dok. That's when Le Klint realized that her mother's unique, hand-woven rugs were close to disappearing. She therefore asked Kampmann and Fenge if they would like to set the rugs into production? With the Paustian exhibition in mind, the duo said yes and took the plunge in confidence in the enormous recognition that Vibeke Klint and her ouvre have achieved nationally as well as internationally.
